Frequently asked questions
How does an MRI operate and what is it?
Magnetic Resonance Imaging is referred to as MRI. Doctors may examine the inside of the body with an MRI scanner without the need for X-rays, dangerous chemicals, or surgery. The MRI scanner creates incredibly clear images of the human anatomy using computers, radio waves, and magnets. When signals from bodily tissue are analyzed by software and transformed into clinical images, MRI images are created. These signals are produced by combining radio waves of a certain frequency with a safe magnetic field. This procedure reveals various tissue properties, which are then scanned in to various contrast levels on the image.
Does getting an MRI cause any harm?
An MRI is not recommended if you have a cardiac pacemaker. It may be lethal. The MRI scanner’s magnetic field may negatively impact some of the pacemaker’s components, leading to malfunctions or the device’s shutdown.
How can I get ready for an MRI?
Making sure an MRI scan is safe for you is the first step. An MRI exam is simple to prepare for. You can continue taking your prescriptions as normal unless your doctor instructs you otherwise. There are no restrictions on what can be consumed.
What should I eat prior to the MRI?
There are no restrictions on what can be consumed.
When I go for my MRI, what should I bring?
Your driver’s license, your insurance card, and your doctor’s prescription
Is getting an MRI acceptable if I'm expecting a child?
MRI has not been demonstrated to be detrimental to fetuses. If you decide to get the MRI, though, you will be required to sign a consent document that your OBGYN must also sign.
Can I reschedule my body scan after booking?
Of course! We are willing to accommodate requests for rescheduling since we recognize that schedules can change. In order for us to modify our schedule and provide your appointment time to other patients who might require it, please give us at least 24 hours’ notice.
How does an MRI benefit you and your medical team?
MRI has no known adverse effects and is a non-invasive treatment. You won’t see or feel anything throughout the operation, which is very painless. There will be a slight knocking sound, which is just the image process working. Used imaging technique can be used as a primary diagnostic tool to provide a quick and accurate diagnosis for your physician.
Is it painful? Are there any symptoms?
Our MRI scanners are quiet, cozy, and not cramped like many others.
Do I have to lie very still?
The quality of the MRI image will improve if you remain still throughout the exam. The image becomes blurry when you move. You will need to repeat the MRI exam if you move too much since the radiologist won’t be able to see what he needs to see.
How much time will it take?
This depends on the area of the body that needs to be scanned as well as whether or not your doctor has requested any additional or special scans. The complete evaluation typically takes 15 to 45 minutes.
Does an MRI require a prescription from a doctor?
Yes. Be sure to bring it when you come for your MRI exam or have your doctor fax it to us.
Does my health insurance cover a full body scan?
Unfortunately, health insurance plans do not cover Full Body MRIs. Whole body scanning technology is an emerging field and by in large, companies have not added these services to their coverage plans.
How do you handle canceled appointments and refunds?
We offer full refunds for appointments cancelled with at least 24 hours’ notice. If something absolutely needs to be rescheduled or cancelled, we will work with you to get it done promptly.
